Sophie Luo is a producer and filmmaker based in Lenapehoking/New York City working across film, art, and commercial spaces.

She produced the feature film The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire (dir. Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich), which premiered at IFFR in the Tiger Competition, played at TIFF and NYFF, and was named one of the Best Films of 2025 by Vulture and The Film Stage. Other recent work includes Without A Song (dir. Mark Armijo McKnight), exhibited at the Whitney Museum; Onlookers (dir. Kimi Takesue), which had its international premiere at the Centre Pompidou in Paris; and Conspiracy (dirs. Simone Leigh and Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich), which played at Berlinale, MoMA Doc Fortnight, and the Venice Biennale. Her short film Closing Annisa won the Golden Reel for Best Short Documentary at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in 2021.

Additionally, she has produced commercial work for clients such as Nike, TED, Gap, Vimeo, Google, Timberland, Priorities USA, Justice Democrats, and more. Sophie was awarded the 2024 Gotham Global Producer of the Year award and is a Gotham/Rotterdam Producers Lab Fellow as well as an inaugural member of Women In Film’s Emerging Producers Program.
